friday evening, we walked through Uni Park to Mooch, the campus bar. mom & dad wanted to have dinner there, and so they did! beers were consumed and very much enjoyed afterwards.
dad & i walked to Beeston on saturday morning, just to look around. we walked past the shopping/pedestrian area (which is where i’ve always stopped) & onwards past the church, post office and up to a sort of industrial/reconstruction area. also found out they’re planning a tramline to Beeston (and not all are in favour, as you can see above), which is funny as one of my classes that week studied D.H. Lawrence’s short story “Tickets Please”, which was about the Nottingham tram when it had just started running, more or less 100 years ago.

we went into the city in the afternoon, to walk around the Lace Market (not much has been preserved, as far as i could see) and to visit the Museums of Justice, which was rather disappointing and disturbing in my opinion. but! the dinner we had at The Living Room more than made up for it! highly recommended, not only for the good food, but also for the very kind staff. somehow, i managed to order a non-alcoholic beer to go with my meal. ah well.
sunday coming up next!

Lovely pictures! I esp like the 4th & the 5th ones, really pretty
thanks! i love the roughness and frozen-in-time feel of a lot of these places.
